Story behind the place (mini story)

At the first light of dawn, on the tranquil shores of Lake Kerkini in Northern Greece, a solitary Fisherman’s House stands quietly by the water - the last humble refuge of an old tradition.
The sun rises slowly, casting a warm glow over the wooden cabin as the landscape awakens in tones of gold and serenity, with Mount Belles gently silhouetted in the distance. 

Created in 1932 with the construction of the Strymonas River Dam, Lake Kerkini transformed from marshland into one of Europe’s most important NATURA-protected wetlands - a haven for hundreds of bird species, water buffalo, and the slow, rhythmic life that thrives beside the water. 

The photograph conveys a deep sense of calm - the earthy colors of the cabin, the soft contrasts of light and shadow, and the stillness of the moment evoke peace and contemplation.
It’s a quiet invitation to pause, listen to nature, and rediscover the beauty of simplicity.
