Story behind the place (mini story)
Perched above Rafina’s harbor, Saint Nicholas honors the patron of sailors (feast day: December 6), with views toward Evia and the South Euboean Gulf. The chapel rose over a former World War II emplacement - converted into a small shrine in October 1947 - and ever since, mariners whisper, “My Saint Nicholas helps.”...
